Mr Lynch
is a new bar recently opened by my friend Duncan Fisher to add to his
existing mini empire. OK, so this is his second one following the
continuing success of The Apartment, but there is a third one coming soon. The bar and I guess the clientele are very different. The Apartment is slick, modern and for those who love the look and sound of themselves on a Friday and Saturday night, Mr Lynch is probably cooler in another sense. The decor is definitely retro chic. A whole mismatch of 70's and 80's chairs and settees found on eBay no doubt, along with red velvet curtains for stage and brown relief wallpaper. Although it may look like your granny's sitting room in some respects, this is very much a cool drinking place for people to chill out and listen to the sounds of live funky-jazz. You can dance if you want to, without getting chucked out. It is tucked away underneath the office blocks, opposite the TA building just on the outskirts of the town centre. With outside tables and even a pool room, this is certainly different and worth dropping in. |
