efnic
I have just launched another web site for general reviews and news, primarily for food & drink type stuff, but holidays and entertainment stuff as well.

I can create accounts for friends and family to submit items. Just let me know if you want an account.

The new web site is: www.efnic.co.uk

Man, it is well wicked, innit. And a bit daft as well...

Congratulations
Emma and Stuart have had a baby girl this morning. Congratulations and welcome to this crazy world, little Georgia Bluebell.

Make full use of your maternity/paternity leave and get some sleep.

See you both soon.

X-Net are looking for a Talent Office Manager
Wednesday, 30 August 2006
ImageX-Net are looking for a new member of staff to manage and build upon the pool of consultants. Some people might view it as a recruitment adviser but it really is much more. The level of people and the quality of experience they have mean that we are dealing with consultants earning more than £1000 per day, such is their calibre.

X-Net needs someone to maintain the current pool, keep them informed of future requirements, track their availability and to grow the base of personnel across all levels. This is not a CV matching role. You need the skills to understand the requirements that are received and to relate that to the depth of experience people have.

£50 bet between Rich B and Chris W
Tuesday, 29 August 2006
Just to capture a bet that was made on Saturday night between Rich B and Chris W so it is not forgotten after all the wine and stuff.

Chris reckons within a (full) year of Valentino Rossi joining formula one, from motor cycle racing, he will win three grand prix. Rich B reckons not. Hence the £50.

A slightly damp but successful BBQ
Tuesday, 29 August 2006
OK, there was a little bit of rain but everyone managed to push on through and it turn out fine as usual. No food poisoning, just nice steaks, scallops and lots of sausages and chicken. Sick of the sight of chicken legs though.

It was also our nineth wedding anniversary so it was good to have everyone around.

Fingers cross for good BBQ weather tomorrow
Thursday, 24 August 2006
Although there has been a bit of rain over the last couple of days, today looked OK. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

BBC Weather for Bournemouth shows that it is partly cloudy and sunny.

Not sure what plan B is at the moment.

Red Arrows time again (Fri 18th at noon)
Friday, 11 August 2006
Red Arrows
Red Arrows
The Red Arrows visit Bournemouth again.

This year it will be on Friday 18th of August at noon. Remember, unless you get there early you will not be able to park! Be warned.

We normally go on the Westcliff side and stand on the open grass areas. Down the pier is very busy also but at least you hear the commentary there.

Friday 25th August. Place to be is on the beach!

The second Bournemouth Possee beach BBQ is on for Friday night on the 25th of August. Bring your own food, drink, disposable BBQ and speedos. I say this every time but no-one ever does.

I am sure it wont be as windy and as cold as the last one. Nor will we need to shelter behind the ice cream hut and scare locals walking along the beach who saw flames from underneath the wooden structure.

Bring back the dolphin! They were fantastic but have never been back since. Maybe the warm weather will have enticed them closer to the shores. Sushi anyone? Just kidding...

No more 6-pack jokes this time. My body will never be the same again.

It will probably be the first time we all meet up again after Matt and Emma's wedding.

We will make sure we bring some music down. Not that I will be doing break-dancing but the Tasmanian Devil whirlwind known as R'Aston will hopefully be there.

Fred and Lyn visited from Melbourne, Oz

Fred and Lyn
Fred and Lyn
It was a welcome suprise that we got an e-mail to say Fred and Lyn were coming to the UK as part of a tour around Europe via Southern Africa and wanted to pop down into Bournemouth.

We had only met and chatted with them for a couple of days back in 2000 when we spent 5 days in Phuket at the Dusit Laguna, after my brother's wedding in Hong Kong.

So it was nice to have kept in touch and a big surprise after these years that they turned up in Bournemouth for a couple of days to share a glass of wine or two.
