Good food around Bournemouth, Dorset
Monday, 20 April 2009

Restaurants and eateries are so varied around here.

From Gary Rhodes's restaurant for lunch to a Harvester for dinner in the same day through to Iranian kebabs in town the next week. That is how we roll around here.

That reminds me, the Christchurch Food Festival is coming up at the begining of May.

No shoes, just a new piece of art
Sunday, 19 April 2009

Having sat up early in bed browsing Westover Gallery's website we both seemed to agree on the same piece once we popped into the gallery.

Richard Rowan does quite stunning landscapes although Ange did like one by another artist that looked like something that your English nan would have but I quickly sidestepped that one. This artist had a beautiful piece on glass that was absolutely stunning but 5-G is a bit much to pay. Not won the lottery just yet.

The one we chose should offset the magnolia wall in the lounge no end!

0% interest on mortgage!
Sunday, 19 April 2009

I finally got the letter from the mortgage company that says because of my tracker mortgage follows the base rate at a discounted level, it actually means that this month my mortgage interest level is 0%, that is a monthly payment of £0! Whoo hoo.

I doubt I will see that happen again though, although if it does then that means the economy has messed up big time again.

Time to buy a new pair of shoes.

A pleasant day's round of golf at Ashley Wood
Wednesday, 15 April 2009

Golfing at Ashley WoodAngela won a round of golf at the recent Tits 4 Tat charity event.

Matt her brother-in-law was down so we decided to use the voucher donated by Ashley Wood Golf Club in Blandford Forum, Dorset. The rules at private golf clubs can be a bit strict so not having golf shoes or a bag of clubs (as we assumed you could hire some there) was a bit embarassing, but they were very charitable.

It's a really nice course and we spent a leisurely four hours or so getting round it. Only had to let one pair play through. An interesting course and everyone was nice even given my blatant rule breaking!

I even parred a hole in 3 shots.

I managed to finish RC1 of the DVD last night.

I have footage of Emma talking about the Pope and slagging Matt off on his IT question to the vicar! Genius.

All systems go.

Never go to Curry King in Cambridge
Tuesday, 31 March 2009

Never, ever go there.

Food was OK I thought. Service was pure crap. They will get a stinking review.

Just to repeat, never ever go to the Curry King restaurant in Cambridge.

However, do go to the lovely Vietnamese restaurant called Thanh Binh. Review to come shortly.

Mark Louise wedding
Mr and Mrs Reilly
Many congratulations to Mark and Louise on their wedding over the weekend.

We had a fantastic time and it was a great setting to have a wedding. The ceremony, banquet and party were all held in three different wings of Trinity College around the beautiful courtyard.

As always, I have some photos upload to the Fong Gallery (Mark and Louise wedding) but have also placed a smaller selection on Facebook (wedding photos) .

The video is next but that will take a bit longer. Yes, I do have footage of the first dance. Who would have thought, eh? Good on ya both.

Sleet Showers for Cambridge
No, please no rain
I hope the BBC are wrong in their forecast and there wont be any sleet or showers for Mark and Louise's wedding in Cambridge.

Nor do I want it to be -3 degrees on the night either!

Sort it out.

Boys Toys for cleaning
Thursday, 26 March 2009

Is it just me or when it comes to blokes sorting out vacuum cleaners and so on for home, we go for the full on Dyson products as they are basically macho boys toys, well at least compared to the rest.

Just got a Dyson hand held vacuum, the DC16, reconditioned B Grade via Dyson's own eBay web site. It was about £64 compared to £100 RRP or £88 from Amazon.

Feels like holding a flipping machine gun or some crazy sci-fi power tool.

It is so powerful that a full charge takes 3 hours and only lasts 6 minutes of use. This is something that guy from Home Improvement would use and soup up.

Check out the new sponsored links
Wednesday, 25 March 2009

Got a bit more pizza money for the sponsored links on the right hand side. Also put two on efnic.co.uk as part of the deal for one year.

This web site is just one big tart. Any offer considered.

Mark and Louise's wedding this weekend
Tuesday, 24 March 2009

Hotel Fong will be closed this weekend as we are off to Cambridge for the wedding of Mark Reilly and Louise Lenton. First one of the year.

Hopefully the sun will shine down on Trinity College for the day.

Mark and Louise wedding

I will be there to capture the merriment as usual and I think there will be some newly parented people that are going to follow in the footsteps of the Bushnells and Philips and will mostly be getting trollied. That's the only way to go.
