 scorchio...! Just got back from a week in Cavtat, Croatia. Photos and report to go up soon. A bit gutting that the weather was better here than across there. Mucho schorchio in the UK, semi raining in Croatia. Great. Judging by the miles of traffic leaving Dorset on Sunday afternoon, it must have been pretty packed.

 Rich B has gone and done the honourable thing.
They got engaged on Tuesday. Had a 'few' drinks on Wednesday with the gang. Blew chunks on Thursday, well at least Meg did.
Congratulations.
Those damned hangovers.... Enough talk about looking at each other's rings.

It has only been cancelled once in the many years we have been doing these BBQ's on the beach, so I am sure we will be fine. Normally once the sun begins to set, things quieten down on the weather fronts (pun!).

I only managed to catch the last part of a documentary on BBC2 last night called The Princess Spy, which covered the role of an Indian woman that spied on behalf of Britain during World War 2 and died at the hands of the German Nazis, along with other women spies.
She was only one of a handful of women to have received the George Cross.

I will be getting the book and taking it to Croatia with me to read on holiday as well as The Time Traveler's Wife, which has been highly recommended by a friend of mine, as well as Richard and Judy's book club.

Saturday May 27th it is then! 6PM onwards at the bottom of Toft Zig Zag.
Usual rules apply. Bring your own food, drink and dispoable BBQ.
Rumour has it that me, Mark H and Matt are dipping in the big sea that night, but we have to get down the gym and flatten the stomachs little before they make their first public appearance this year. I might staple on 6 Wall's bangers onto my stomach and make it look like a 6-pack.

Starting in Novemeber 2006, Thomson Fly are starting flights to Prague, Czech Republic. I did a test booking and it worked out to be just over £38 return, per person. Fantastic. No doubt more stag do's will fly from Bournemouth.
A pity it doesn't start in October as I am planning to go then as well.

 Karate Club 20 years on and a few ex-members of Birmingham University karate club attended a training course back at the old place.Everyone has got older, some have lost weight, some have put some on and others have lost hair, or some combination of all those. It was good to see Marcela, John and Graham. Maybe the next time won't be so long coming.
John has given me a couple of photo albums so I will get round to scanning them in, soon... |
