Bournemouth's Red Panda restaurant is closed
Friday, 06 February 2009

ImageCredit Crunch is hitting the restaurant scene in Bournemouth. It was lights out this week when the Red Panda Chinese Restaurant quietly disappeared and shuts down.

The whole group/chain must be affected as their website says it is "undergoing maintenance".

That dreaded iMax building has not had a good life since the beginning. I guess everybody wants to know when it will finally go.

The cold weather takes it toll on the koi
Tuesday, 03 February 2009
Alas, my long suffering koi just couldn't handle the two spells of really cold weather and gave up living.

The Cherry
At last, I get the letter from the mortgage company showing the rediculously low amount I have to pay now. Smile

Unfortunately my discount tracker ends in the summer. Argh, give with one hand then take with the other. Frown

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Ha, what a load of Kaka
Saturday, 17 January 2009

After my last post which was before the whole Kaka consideration, seems like the football silliness just moves on.

A load of kaka indeed.

Why aren't overpaid footballers getting credit crunched?
Sunday, 11 January 2009

Why aren't overpaid, petulant, selfish, crass footballers getting credit crunched off the face of this earth?

With the sky high salaries getting paid per week, where the same figure would be one hell of a yearly wage for anybody else, and the spiralling debts of the clubs pushing them towards administration and receivership, why are people still willing to subsidise these lifestyles at ultimately their own expense.

fong.co.uk is now on a new Dell server running newer software that seems to be stopping at least 2000 spam e-mails a day!

Thanks to the Spamassassin / Postfix  / Ubuntu combo and the Spamhaus RBL.

Sick of all this festive sickness
Sunday, 04 January 2009

ImageI am sick of being sick.

Coughing and spluterring from before Xmas till now. Still not gone. How annoying. Someone suggested Covonia Bronchial Balsam, man how rank does that rank. Probably helps a bit but my tongue is done in with all the Strepsils, cough medicine, paracetamol, honey and lemon drinks.

Hopefully none of the guests at Hotel Fong have caught it.

Happy New Year to everyone

New Year
Cheers
Here's to a fantastic 2009 and may it be not as credit crunched as we may think.

We've got loads of champagne left so we wil survive until the autumn I guess.

My cough should have gone by then and I've recovered from the huge measure of vodka that Guy poured.

What the heck is this...?
Wednesday, 31 December 2008

I was looking for an answer to a linux question on the inittab file on Ubuntu server, yeah very geeky I know and when I clicked on the first google result I saw some graphic with a link to connectmrfong , spooky or what. I thought damn, has my browser leaked some cookie-boy info or what!

There's even some Mr Fong YouTube tomfoolery.

Westbourne - must lose so much passing trade
Monday, 29 December 2008

Westbourne must lose so much trade from people who drive around that central ring road with the view of simply popping in and then out as fast as possible, but there seems to be such a disproportionate amount of disabled parking spaces around the area.

The amount of times I've driven there before work hoping for a quick splash and dash in Greggs, made a couple of circuits and then gave up huffing and puffing and swearing, must have destroyed a tree or two in the Amazon.

Thankfully today I managed to bag a space after just the one loop. Whoo hoo.
