The web site has introduced another new client to Ocean City restaurant in Bournemouth.
"Hi Gordon and Angela, thanks to your blog page and write up regarding the dim sum in Bournemouth (Ocean City ), my wife and I and two friends went there on Sunday (14th Dec 2008) and had one of the better Dim Sum's we have had for a long while and excellent service. We live in Southampton and have been Dim Sum lovers since the early 70's when we were the only English people on a sunday at the Golden Palace Rest in Southampton, or London's Chinatown. We regularly eat at the Pearl Harbour in Southampton , but the decor is well overdue (good food though) and more recently the Dragon Palace (for Dim Sum), but their prices have increased too much (they add a service charge regardless, plus a 10% charge on all bills) and they only take cash! The service however, is not that good now anyway, so our new local is now Ocean City Bournemouth, thanks again guys and we will hopefully see you there sometime. Regards, Nigel and Terry Summerton." |

Grand Place We've booked to go to Brussels during the 1st May Bank Holiday to visit Tom and Sharon Kemp, and for me to do some karate out there. About £200 for the flights from Southampton Airport with Flybe.Anybody else fancy the trip? Strong continental beer and great food. Hopefully the Mexican Grill is still open for another visit. |

A friend remarked about paying £4.50 and £5 a pint in Bournemouth. Have I really reached the Saga age or what? Jeez. I know DNA have been a bit redic in the past. |

No, this isn't a story about me getting a free meal at West Beach or Fishworks , it is about my little red and white goldfish meeting his maker. Fishy wishy I say meet his maker, it was more of a case of a scoop, bash on the head and into the bin. Still, 18 months and this is the first loss in the pond is pretty good going for someone like me.That big koi is not looking great neither. I really don't know how I am going to get that one out when its time comes. A pair of marigolds and some Dutch courage may be in order. |

Having been lured into Aldi by their 39p advertising I began on the carrots, sprouts and lemons for 39p a pack. Who else gets annoyed at Tesco charging 30p for one lemon whilst Aldi can do it for 39p for a bag of 5?
Having been a fan of Lidl for a while and their European meat selection I thought Aldi had even better stuff available. My downfall came in the frozen foods section. Bloody marketing. Actually I was very satisfied with my box of langoustines, huge scallops, duck legs in orange source, duck legs in plum source, lamb shanks and beef ribs in red wine. All very gourmet it seems. Should make for a tasty Christmas. Anyway, I hate Christmas so some yummy food and nice wine will take the edge off! £50 I spent. What credit crunch, more like credit munch! |

Not sure if getting to 40 has meant that my details have been flagged up in some mailing lists as being old. Been receiving mailings from Age Concern. Ha ha, very funny. I think I might have had some Saga stuff as well. |

Seems like the skip people came back when I was away and started a repair on the concrete fence post. Looks like the letter worked and they listened to common sense. Good on them as I thought it might have gone a bit wrong on this one. |

Skippy, skippy Just had a company, wont name them just yet as they might stump up with the cash or it may go to my favourite small claims court in Bournemouth, who came to collect their skip.Talk about being a bit reckless and without care. He narrowly missed the back end of my car as he aggresively reversed slamming into the skip to try and realign it for his collection. Had he had an ounce of customer service or even common sense he could have knocked on my door and I would have moved the car but also help manually move the skip which he did in the end. Ah, this was after breaking the neighbour's concrete fence post with his mad reversing. I couldn't believe it. Had me and the neighbour not been in and watching it, they would have simply got away with it and denied all knowledge. Hmmm, I doubt the disclaimer they talk about would stand up in court. Anyway, it was not my property they damaged, apart from a gouge in y tarmac, it was the neighbour's property. Let's see what happens on Monday when the boss is back in. Let's hope they do the right thing. |

Make a Will It's all very boring and very grown up unfortunately but me and Angela have just updated our will through Laceys, that were donating their time free as part of a short term promotion for the Julia's House charity. We found that Laceys were very nice, helpful and quick. A lot of you (as in our friends) have got married in the last year or two and you need to sort a will out, even if it is just basic. Otherwise your stuff may not go to who you think it should if anything untowards happens. |

 (c) (r) (tm) Sick of the sight of seeing old faces from the 4-Sight and WAM!NET days. Bad enough having to meet up with the developers and techies the past 10 years and more, seeing them get married and have kids, now I come across people in my work life. Ooer missus.Time to have a bit of a reunion I think. Well some people seem to think so, so here we go.... Click for 4-Sight Reunion Event in Spring 2009 |

Looks like the Boscombe reef won't be finished this side of the year. The weather is not nice enough for them to work in so they are packing up for Xmas and coming back in Easter. |
