fong.co.uk is now on a new Dell server running newer software that seems to be stopping at least 2000 spam e-mails a day! Thanks to the Spamassassin / Postfix / Ubuntu combo and the Spamhaus RBL. |

I am sick of being sick.
Coughing and spluterring from before Xmas till now. Still not gone. How annoying. Someone suggested Covonia Bronchial Balsam, man how rank does that rank. Probably helps a bit but my tongue is done in with all the Strepsils, cough medicine, paracetamol, honey and lemon drinks. Hopefully none of the guests at Hotel Fong have caught it. |

Cheers Here's to a fantastic 2009 and may it be not as credit crunched as we may think. We've got loads of champagne left so we wil survive until the autumn I guess. My cough should have gone by then and I've recovered from the huge measure of vodka that Guy poured. |

I was looking for an answer to a linux question on the inittab file on Ubuntu server, yeah very geeky I know and when I clicked on the first google result I saw some graphic with a link to connectmrfong , spooky or what. I thought damn, has my browser leaked some cookie-boy info or what! There's even some Mr Fong YouTube tomfoolery. |

Westbourne must lose so much trade from people who drive around that central ring road with the view of simply popping in and then out as fast as possible, but there seems to be such a disproportionate amount of disabled parking spaces around the area. The amount of times I've driven there before work hoping for a quick splash and dash in Greggs, made a couple of circuits and then gave up huffing and puffing and swearing, must have destroyed a tree or two in the Amazon. Thankfully today I managed to bag a space after just the one loop. Whoo hoo. |

Ho ho ho, bomofo Only managed to post this after Christmas seeing as, or more accurately 'we', have had that horrible coughing bug the last week or so.If you are wondering why you haven't had a card from me then that is because I am a miserable bah-humbug kind-a-guy. Anyway I have made a donation to MND Association , Barnardos and Shelter with all those pennies I would have spent on mindless cards and postage. Back at my work desk with a sausage roll and soup combo from Greggs, who seemed to have put way too much power into the home-made recipe. |

Xmas Party 2008 Some photos from the Xmas Party at the Durley Hall Hotel & Spa (Bournemouth's Premier 3 star hotel don't you know). We were literally the last table to eat. Had to sort the wine order out. Manager couldn't read his e-mail properly. Reminds me, I should pay at some point... Those Brussel sprouts did work. Maybe I did have a few too many of them. |

Show me the money Or at least I thought. What a tease that pesky Ernie is.I've bought a few sets of Premium Bonds recently and was used to receiving a letter from them a few days later, but that was a while ago. I picked a new letter up from the floor today. Excellent, Christmas really had come, or so I thought. It was just some crummy letter saying they made a mistake in some leaflet recently. Argh. Have to still go to work tomorrow. Ah well, at least it is the company Christmas party tomorrow night. Bring on the photocopy. I say photocopier, scanning to PDF on a shared volume doesn't seem to have the same risqué sound about it.

KFC With all that talk of restaurant reviews, Belgium food, blah blah blah, sometimes all you need is a KFC for lunch which is exactly what I am having right now.It was watching the episode of Gavin and Stacey, when Smithy and Nessa were getting all hot and steamy over a KFC, that had me gagging for a KFC all night and this morning. Emergency over, Hot Rod box in hand. |

Still waiting for any real benefit from the interest rates to kick in. Now got a letter saying the cut will take effect from Jan 31st, which effectively means middle of Feb for me. Too late for a little Xmas pressie then. Guess at which point on the graph below we bought our house. Average UK House Price Sod's law, June 07. Now the Americans get 0% interest rates! |

The web site has introduced another new client to Ocean City restaurant in Bournemouth.
"Hi Gordon and Angela, thanks to your blog page and write up regarding the dim sum in Bournemouth (Ocean City ), my wife and I and two friends went there on Sunday (14th Dec 2008) and had one of the better Dim Sum's we have had for a long while and excellent service. We live in Southampton and have been Dim Sum lovers since the early 70's when we were the only English people on a sunday at the Golden Palace Rest in Southampton, or London's Chinatown. We regularly eat at the Pearl Harbour in Southampton , but the decor is well overdue (good food though) and more recently the Dragon Palace (for Dim Sum), but their prices have increased too much (they add a service charge regardless, plus a 10% charge on all bills) and they only take cash! The service however, is not that good now anyway, so our new local is now Ocean City Bournemouth, thanks again guys and we will hopefully see you there sometime. Regards, Nigel and Terry Summerton." |

Grand Place We've booked to go to Brussels during the 1st May Bank Holiday to visit Tom and Sharon Kemp, and for me to do some karate out there. About £200 for the flights from Southampton Airport with Flybe.Anybody else fancy the trip? Strong continental beer and great food. Hopefully the Mexican Grill is still open for another visit. |

A friend remarked about paying £4.50 and £5 a pint in Bournemouth. Have I really reached the Saga age or what? Jeez. I know DNA have been a bit redic in the past. |
