Carluccio's Caffe

342-344 Chiswick High Street, London. Tel: 020 8995 8073

Have always thought this looked interested from the front. The huge glass windows give you an instant view into the deli area followed by a long restaurant area.

Had lunch in the afternoon with a friend. The place is very modern and airy.

I had calamari starter which was nice but on top a pretty plain group of small pieces of cos lettuce. Not visually appealing but fine. I then had the ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta. Said it was served in the traditional style with butter and sage. I am pretty sure that there was only one leaf on top and that was about it. I don't mind it being a bit "al dente" but it was a bit chalky in the corner of a few ravioli.

My friend Emma had the soup and a "bread tin" otherwise know as a bread tin with an assortment of nice bread. No complaints there.

I really enjoyed lemon granita. A tangy slush puppy for adults!
