Viet Garden207 Liverpool Road, Islington, London, N1 1LX. Tel: 020 7700 6040 Twice a year I am in Islington on business and keep trying to find new places to eat. Have been to the usual stuff on the main street but sought out this Vietnamese restaurant after doing a bit search via the likes of London Eating. Mostly good reviews but a couple of moans on service when it was busy. I got there on a Monday night 8pm and sat down. There was only one person serving and looks very family run so I guess there is a risk of it being a bit slow when they get realy full. I ordered fried aubergine, which was a bit sticky to eat. I was hoping for something like Tempura but fine. The prawn and squid cakes were a little oily and flat, but tasty. I also had a bowl of Special Pho, the traditional Vietnamese noodles. It was big enough with a variety of meats and seafood in there. All washed down with a fresh Tsingtao beer. Starters were about £3, the noodles £7 and the beer just under £3. All in with service charge it was just under £20. The food was nothing to write home about, however it was good but also very good value. I would go back, just so I can try more. <update> Went here with the guys from work and they enjoyed it as well </update>
