This place is cavernous. Dark, red, huge, space and cold.

The most expensive Chinese but non-Chinese meal I've ever had. Strange thing was, the next morning we went to Chinatown to catch a bus. $1 for rice soup and then $3 for wan ton soup. This place was on a totally different league.

This is Chinese food for those rich and/or famous that don't want to go to a Chinese restaurant and want something a bit more trendy and chic.

Air con - doesn't need to be that cold, although I am not fan of the heat this was a bit redic.

They didn't get the whole "we will have the duck and pancakes as an intermediate course" thing and brough the main courses out before we had finished. Even then not all the main courses came at the same time and we were left waiting for the rice. The fish got sent back after a bit of resistance, until the rice came.

Ha, in the end we took most of the special fried rice back. That was absolutely fantastic on the coach to Boston the next day.

Anyway, the food was fine, the place is fine but part of me has to take into consideration the actual cost. If you live in that space then great but otherwise it is only for a treat. Otherwise it's enough to make your Chinese eyes water.

Actually, on looking at the menu I guess it depends on the dollar exchange rate. I still wouldn't say it was cheap though. Anyway, my review for Nobu is still to come. Now that was on a whole new level yet again. And I loved it.
