Wine and drinks
OK so this isn't Robert Parker's wine guide or some Superplonk manual, it's only a personal collection of stuff I have tried and how I rate them out of 5 for drinkability and recommendation. This wasn't done all at one sitting neither!! Although sometimes you might wonder.
  1. Keep clear. Learn from my mistake which should save you a few pounds
  2. Not good and not worth trying again to see if it has changed
  3. Doesn't mean it is bad. Means I would try it again but pretty standard stuff.
  4. A good drink and something a cut above the standard glugging stuff
  5. A favourite of mine and is probably quite special and worth savouring

What I should and will try to do next is to add some indiction of pricing, at the time of purchase

£ - less than £3
££ - from £3 to under £5
£££ - from £5 to under £10
££££ - from £10 to under £15
£££££ - £15 and above

OK, maybe not the best price guide but it suits my pockets when it comes to wine. I don't drink Chateau D'Yquem or Domaine de la Romanée-Conti all the time.

  • Beers and lager  ( 11 items )
Try some proper beers and lagers, not the brewed-under-license chemical solutions.
  • Champagne and sparkling wine  ( 28 items )
You don't need a special occassion to down some bubbly.
  • Dessert wine  ( 5 items )
Not as cloying as you might think, although avoid the ones which are sweet for sweetness sake.
  • Non-alcoholic  ( 1 items )
The occassional drinks I come across that don't have alcohol in.
  • Port, sherry and fortified wines  ( 8 items )
The good stuff should throw off the images of eldery aunts sipping in the afternoon. A crisp dry sherry with Tapas, is the way to go.
  • Red wine  ( 89 items )
Red wines. The best are great for relaxing and sipping.
  • Rose wine  ( 2 items )
The summer alternative for red wine lovers. Always good for bar-b-ques.
  • Spirits and Licquers  ( 7 items )
Spirits and Licquers from around the world
  • White wine  ( 53 items )
Whites from around the world from crispy dry to full and oppulent.
