The weather can make or break things but this year's Shake and Stir Vintage Festival was the best yet. It has to be the best free event in the Bournemouth area.

It was the first time I saw Mungo Jerry playing live and I really enjoyed it as well as Jesse Ray who closed off the night's music on the high street. There social media profile links are at the bottom if you want to connect and like.

I created a pretty raw little movie just to show off the two days I was there. Amazing what you can do with an iPhone and iMovies. You can see more at the SoBo Mile YouTube Channel.

Shake and Stir is put on by a group of volunteers and committee members. I want to say a big thank you to Mandy Payne and Fiona McArthur, as well as Councillor Chris Mayne, and all the unnamed volunteers on the day.

There is a Just Giving page for donations that go towards funding the event and future events. This event is not put on by Bournemouth Council. The event has to apply for grants as well as gaining sponsorship and income from trader stalls. The Council charges a lot to have the main road closed off. Plus the music acts as well.

It's lovely to see all generations coming out to enjoy the day. To get dressed up and to dance away. It really is marvellous.

If you attended the event, and enjoyed it, then please consider throwing a few pounds into the virtual collection bucket if you haven't done so already. It's worth at least a pound each isn't it?
