We went into the new development by the Quay and had a nice dinner at a Japanese restaurant called Izakaya. It was reviewed in The Guardian one weekend so I thought it would be worth a try.

The place looks very modern and reminds me of Portsmouth Quay. Not quite as large though. I guess they are all starting to look pretty similar with the same chains of bars and restaurants.

There's not a huge amount to the place but you can stroll around a bit in its open spaces and have a look at the giant water sculpture.

There are two private dining rooms at the back, which I guess can be reserved in the evening for larger groups of special occasions, however seeing as it was during the day and we had a couple of kids with us we were ushered into these rooms. Actually it was for the best. There were kids in the other room as well.
