Happy New Year everyone
Cheers everyone and all the best for 2014.
Cheers everyone and all the best for 2014.
With all the food entries and Tweets and Facebook updates around food you'd be surprised that I am trying this. I don't think I am necessarily getting that close to the 600 calories on the two days, but it is definitely closer to that than what I would previously ram down.
With all the eating recently I was strangely looking forward to the fasting days.
I can see it already, cheese being thrown in the bin, yet another Xmas pudding will go the same way and not to say that there was already another one on the shelf from last year when we had three. There's only two of us.
So much food gets wasted normally throughout the year and recent news has highlighted the large supermarkets and their 2-for-1 offers.
Not only is it wasteful throwing away food but it costs money as well. 7 million tonnes of food thrown out each year.
I better get back to my chicken and gammon leftovers. When I say leftovers, I mean we only had about 15% of the huge piece of gammon. Arggh.
To end of a good year at work we all went to The Library of Liquor (above The Larderhouse) in Southbourne for our Xmas lunch. None of the guys had been before so it was a bit of a surprise for people, transporting back to the latter part of last century.
Normally it is a quiet drinking place but for Xmas they were holding private dinners up there so we got the whole place to ourselves.
It took a while to get there and it was only Google webmaster tools complaining about crawl errors that I finally made the plunge to install Joomla 3 onto my London server and migrate all the content from Bournemouth. Joomla isn't or wasn't best at upgrading itself, not as easily as how Wordpress does it now. I opted for a commercial migration too called Migrate Me as opposed to J!Upgrade which I did try but got spurious results when all my page links got turned into something weird.
I will have to wait until Google reindexes everything as all the search engine friendly URLs from previous have been modified to have IDs in them. Google dropped most of my links anyway, so at least it will be better than recently.
It was a bit of a faff on having to learn a new framework and template options but seeing as it was around the Xmas holidays I had a bit of time to mess around with it.
