This small restaurant has been around at the Southbourne Crossroads for a long time. During the summer of 2005 it has been taken under new management. From the comments of friends who have been before, the menu has basically stayed the same.

We went there with some friends that live in the same block of flats the other weekend. The decor is definitely not up to much and could do with a revamp to make it a bit more intimate and soften the large 70's dining room look and feel to it. Then again, it does cater for the older generation around Southbourne.

I found the menu had a very wide range and the specials had many fresh fish options which is good to see.

I went for the duck as well as Angela and we both asked for it to be medium. Unfortunately it was rather well done. I don't mind that neither but it was a bit disappointing as I was looking forward to it being pink. They have three choices for the sauce which made it quite different. It might have been something to do with the waitress that seemed quite new to the job.

Still in two minds, as the calamari starter sounded good but at just under £5 for a few rings, it wasn't quite like being on holiday in Spain or Croatia where you get a big plate full of the stuff.

I guess it is still worth another try and it is local, and we keep on banging on about supporting the local shops, bars and restaurants.

<update>
We went in Feb 2009 and it has changed a bit. A lot bearer and darker inside apart from the karaoke machine lights on the weekend. A different sort of clientele compared to before.
