Pinocchio's - Italian Restaurant

5 Church Street, Christchurch, Dorset BH23 1BW. Tel: 01202 484 910

Got here quite late on a Thursday night but it was still quite lively.

My usual tester is to order the spaghetti carbonara to check the standard. If it comes out as a load of bland white sauce  then I know they are not very good at Italian food. This was good but would have preferred it closer to al-dente than the safer cooked through option. I should start asking really.

The two pizzas that came out were very nice. We had originally intended to go to Soho bar next door (where we always enjoy the pizzas) but thought it would be a nice change to try somewhere else. The pizzas were not exactly thin crust but slightly above and way below being the doughy Dominoes type. Nice and crispy on the edges and good amount of cheese. The anchovies were good quality. Someone asked for garlic on this and it definitely came with it.

The lasagne was a bit too soupy in texture for me, but I enjoyed my three spoonfuls that I pinched from Angela.

This is a good old fashioned Italian restaurant that any high street deserves.
