This country pub is very swanky for a country pub.
I had the tempura beef starter. Not exactly traditional Japanese. Beef in batter was OK but the salad of rocket, chilli, spring onions went very well.
My main course was spit chicken with lemon, roast garlic, thyme, aioli and frites. Chicken and the sauce was superb. There was a tasty chicken leg and a large chicken breast that was still moist. I wish the frites were more like thin frites than just chips.
Very yummy all round and recommend. Seems there are lots of ladies who lunch around that part of the world.
