I was up in Edinburgh for a business meeting and thought I would stay overnight to meet up with friends and family. I had walked up and down Princes Street and Rose Street that afternoon and saw there was loads of choice to eat out.

That night though I was taken to this tapas restaurant on George Street. When I heard we were going for tapas I recalled there was a La Tasca but secretly hoped I wasn't going there. Thankfully they took me to this far superior place.

It definitely looks the part. Foodwise it was very good. The calamari had the best season batter I have tasted so far, light and extremely crispy. These were definitely no chip shop battered like onion rings. We got another plate they were so good.

Scallops were yummy and so were the seranno ham, garlic prawns, mushrooms and the rest. Just watch out for the wasabi that comes with the carpaccio of beef. In some places it is just a bland pale green mess but the stuff they had here definitely packed a punch that goes straight to your nose as any good wasabi should be.

House rose was very drinkable as the two bottles ordered showed.
