Me and Angela decided as a last minute thing to stay there
overnight after meeting some friends. We booked the room via
expedia.co.uk which was cheaper than via the hotel's own web site.
That's nearly always the case anyway so a handy hint is to use the
likes of Expedia and Lastminute.com to find prices and then search on
the hotels themselves to get more information and compare standard
rates.
The hotel is in the small town of Market
Bosworth. We didn't get a chance to venture out at all seeing as it was
only a flying visit but it seemed to be a place for country walks etc.
The
hotel was nice enough. Quite large (192 rooms) with a few business
things going on over that weekend but it wasn't too crowded.
We
had dinner at Crompton's which was very nice. £7.50 supplement each on
top of the room which was about £100 for DBB. Not cheap so I'm in too
minds whether to rate it very highly. The food was really nice. My
cured salmon starter and slices of lamb for the main course
couldn't be faulted. The cheese and biscuits I had for
dessert however was very unappealing. Better choice was the
cheesecake which was georgous. I pinched half of Angela's.
If
I didn't have a bad leg (some stupid karate injury which meant I had to
hobble around the whole place, wincing in pain occassionally) and it
was more towards spring/summer time I
would have enjoyed the surroundings a lot more and the use of the gym.
We did have the bonus of a jacuzzi bath, albeit in a twin room.
