After the Shake and Stir organisers said they were postponing their summer event, we spent a week deliberating and then finally announced to the public that we were going to do something.
That left 12 weeks, three months to get it done! Well, for Tony Hughes to get it done as he was the absolute driving force in booking the acts, handling traders, getting design done and even hand drawing the signs to be used during the event. This was all whilst he was doing his day job as well. I was just the mouth piece on Social Media, and the man with the van.
Amazing things happened along the way, in that the local community totally embraced what we were trying to do. There were some naysayers, but, whatever. We well and truly showed them.
Whilst I get round to writing up my own notes, please read the blog by Maddie Crawford.
Blog piece: Adido Attention Summit 2019
Adido kindly invited me to their pre-conference dinner and I had the pleasure of sitting on the main table that had Olympian Daley Thompson on it. Lovely to listen to and the main thing I picked up on was supreme confidence, sort of understated. The daily training, the years of build up gives you that.
When asked, when you did a foul thrown, and you had to make it on the last attempt, did that put the pressure on - he said it was no different to the hundred and thousands of times in training when you did make.
I plucked up the courage to ask him to record a little video with me, to promote a local community music event called Southbourne Revival I was part of. He duly did.
I do have my own notes to write up, but until that day John Espirian's own write up is far better so please read his. Bournemouth can put on great marketing conferences.
John Espirian - You Are The Media Conference 2019 review
There's a lot of change a work this year, exciting changes. Some things I can talk about right now and some things that will come out very soon.
Am buzzing and it feels like I've caught my second wind on top of a big increase in my business visibility these past few years as well. Seems like everything is coming very nicely together.
The first piece of news is that we have taken on a lease of a unit over at the Dorset Innovation Park near Wool. It's very rural, very quiet and a bit of a distance away. In many respects this really benefits the work that Datacenta does and it gives us a much better location for a data centre hosting facility.
