Twenty's

I had fond memories of the Alcatraz Wine Bar which used to be in this spot, just opposite the Post Office. Had my 30th birthday there, some New Year's Eve parties and so on.

I was in town and needed to get something to eat. Someone had mentioned the place before and I thought I would give it a try, under the impression that it was now a bistro type place. Not quite. This place is doing pub food at bistro prices, or near enough.

I had cod and chips at £8 plus my lager shandy was £3.10. That is a lot. My cod was slightly under cooked in the middle. It was a good piece of cod mind, but just missed the mark. The chips hadn't been drained enough so had a coating of oil all over them.

I would have been better off going to the Weatherspoons in hindsight.
