Ichiban - Japanese/Korean Restaurant

530 Framington Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105

This was my first taste of Korean cooking, apart from a Korean BBQ in Hong Kong, which isn't really representative seeing as all we were doing was grilling the food ourselves.

My brother Graham took me and Angela there when we were visiting the US in 2008. He said not to bother ordering starters as they bring a few plates of nibbles which are plenty enough eg kimchi, spicy potatoes, little dried fish and so on.

We had a spicy seafood broth, spicy fish broth and a sizzling pot which had rice and other bits for you to stir and cook.

Graham says this is about the only restaurant that they leave feeling very satisfied and full.

Although we didn't order and sushi/sashimi it looked pretty good.
