We got there just after 6pm on a Monday night and ended up staying for around three hours eating and chatting. I have been there before but it looks like it has had a bg facelift since then. All very contemporary with the lighting, the leather chairs and the decor.

I had the deep fried lightly coated fillets of tilapia. Very nicely cooked and presented. Even the dips/sauces for the poppadoms were a touch on the posh side.

For my main course I had one of their signature dishes listed in the menu. It was a slow cooked leg of lamb that came with a small serving of mash, a medium sized plain nan and pillau rice with a small side salad. The lamb was very tender, the sauce was aromatic, a sense of spice and not oily at all. Everything was seasoned nicely, the nan bread had the crispy edges that added to the light fluffy centre, plus the side salads showed that effort was put into part of the dish.

None of the other guests had any complaints on their food neither. The three hours passed very quickly and testament to the food and setting.

For your traditional curry I have said that the Taj Mahal is the best place in Bournemouth, but now this is a place I would say has got a chance of taking that top slot. I just need to go back once or twice to try a few more dishes but it definitely shows a different touch of class. I liked it.

Pity the web site is down as I wanted to check the details and get the names correct but it should be up by the time you read this.
